Portland real estate films, made like documentaries
Mac Films brings feature-quality cinematography, sound, and pacing to listings, walkthroughs, and the people selling them.
A different kind of real estate film
Cody McDonald has spent the past several years as a Director of Photography for American Dream, an Emmy-nominated documentary series profiling real estate agents across Portland. The same ethos applies directly to listings and walkthroughs: a property reads as premium when it’s filmed with the intention of a documentary subject, not staged as a backdrop for a sales pitch.
That standard carries into every real estate project Mac Films takes on: calm camera movement, careful light, and sound that feels present rather than generic. The result is content that looks like it belongs to a higher tier, on a single unit or a full campaign.
Three ways to work together
Single units, full common areas, and amenity spaces, filmed and edited to move at a pace people actually watch. Delivered in vertical and horizontal cuts from one shoot day.
Short, character-driven pieces built around a neighborhood, a property, or an agent’s process. Vertical-first, built for consistent posting rather than a single one-off.
For agents who want a standing library of premium content instead of a one-time shoot — built around the agent’s existing calendar. Billed monthly in 6 month terms.
PROCESS
How a shoot day works
01
BOOK
Send the property details and the date, confirm scope. A standard walkthrough does not require elaborate pre-production.
02
SHOOT
Calm, deliberate coverage on site: a clean exterior establishing shot, intentional camera movement, and clean audio throughout.
03
DELIVER
Vertical and horizontal cuts, edited separately so each version is composed correctly. Turnaround confirmed at booking, ranging 2-6 weeks.
